Intex Distributing Company was started in 1980 by Gerald Henke in Austin, Texas. Gerald had just finished serving in the Air Force, moved to Austin, and was looking for a job. He found an opening for a sales associate position at a dry cleaning supply company. After a few years of learning the industry, Gerald was able to purchase the business, growing it into what it is today. Intex continues to be family-owned and operated. In 2016, Gerald sold his business to his son, Ben Henke, but he continues to play an active role in the company’s operations.
Today, Intex is a full-line supplier of laundry and dry cleaning supplies selling to dry cleaners, industrial laundries, hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, and other textile processing facilities. We are currently serving customers in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas. We have locations in Hutto, Texas, and Grand Prairie, Texas.

After seeing a need in the industry for specific laundry chemicals, Intex Distributing Co. developed a line of high-quality, effective products for our customers. These exclusive products are only available to purchase through our Intex sales team. Once a customer chooses Interchem products, our service technicians will program washing machines and install pumps to inject custom dosages to optimize the performance of the products. Once the installation is complete, our service technicians provide ongoing service to our Interchem customers.
